Visiting Assistant Professor of History
  The Department of History at the University of Missouri is seeking applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Public History (with the opportunity for a one-year renewal) with an emphasis in U.S. History. The successful candidate will be expected to teach each academic year an upper-division course in the field of Public History, two sections of our U.S. history survey course (either pre-Civil War or post-Civil War), as well as three additional courses. Ideally, at least one of these additional courses would be a specialized public history course, possibly engaging in contemporary questions of commemoration, memorialization, or historical memory and changing notions of identity and belonging.
